Cllr. Gurjit Bains

Gurjit works across the housing, planning and development sectors on local and devolved levels - including for Taylor Wimpey, Sav Group, Imara Group, Peabody and BFI.

Prior to joining Newington, Gurjit worked for two Conservative MPs and on the EU Referendum for the Vote Leave campaign advising on outreach strategies. She has also been a Campaign Manager in two constituencies for both local and national elections and has a degree in Law from the University of Buckingham. Gurjit currently serves as a Conservative Councillor for Gravesham Borough Council and holds a Cabinet portfolio for Community Development.

Meera Sonecha

Meera read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Warwick. Following university she worked in the House of Commons for several years as Sir Edward Garnier’s Parliamentary Assistant and was the Executive Officer of Conservative Friends of India for one year. She was also on the core team of the Andy Street campaign, who is now the Mayor of the West Midlands.

Cllr Gagan Mohindra

Cllr Gagan Mohindra has been a Councillor since 2006 on Epping Forest District Council and is the Finance lead member. He was elected to Essex County Council in 2017 and was promoted onto its Cabinet in May 2018 with responsibility for Economic Development, Planning and Skills Strategy. Gagan has been on the Conservative Party’s Approved Parliamentary List since 2009 and stood as the Conservative candidate in the North Tyneside constituency in the 2010 General Election.

Simmy Sekhon is a property lawyer and a highly ambitious Property Developer operating in the Yorkshire area of the North of England.

Previously, he has operated and owned a highly successful Solicitors Practice employing over 120 people at the height of the property market prior to 2010.

Cllr. Tom Aditya

Councillor Tom Aditya is a social campaigner and management consultant living near Bristol in South West England. In 2010, he became the first person of South-Indian origin outside London metro region to be elected Councillor in the UK and the first South-Indian elected on Conservative party ticket. He is also the first person of Indian and Asian heritage to be elected for a civic office in the county.

Sunil Chopra

Based in London as the Senior Advisor to the CEO & MD, Sunil joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 2002 responsible for relationship management of top global Banking & Financial Services clients.

Mehreen Malik

Mehreen is currently a Senior Associate at Clifford Chance LLP, where she specialises in Sovereign Debt Restructuring and helped launched the world's first sovereign blue bond to benefit oceans, marine life and the environment.

Cllr. Vidhi Mohan

Vidhi has been a Conservative Councillor in the London Borough of Croydon since 2005, and in 2015 stood as the Parliamentary candidate in Croydon North. For 4 years he served as a Cabinet Member in Croydon. Professionally Vidhi runs his own independent consultancy business, advising clients on the feasibility and financing of transport and infrastructure projects, focussing mainly on the international development sector.
