CF India’s Parliamentary Patron, The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP, appointed as Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party
This is a historic moment, and one which Conservative Friends of India welcomes with a great sense of pride, especially being on Diwali day.
Rishi Sunak has been a long standing member and supporter of CF India. His appointment as the Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister of our great nation, is testament to the values of both Britain and the Conservative Party.
Today reflects that Britain is a forward-looking country. The Conservative Party has always been a broadchurch. A Party of meritocracy with opportunity and a place for all, where anyone can break the glass ceiling.
Rishi Sunak is the right person to bring the Conservative Party together and to steer Britain out of the challenges the country and our citizens face. Rishi took unprecedented steps over the Covid pandemic to keep our economy going and save jobs and the businesses of Britain. He acted in the best interest of our country and its people; we know he will take this ethos forward.
