As part of its continued efforts to expand its network across Parliament and strengthen support for the UK-India partnership, Conservative Friends of India is delighted to welcome Gareth Bacon MP, David Reed MP, Sir Christopher Chope MP, John Lamont MP and Joy Morrissey MP as Patron MPs of the organisation.

The appointment of these five respected Conservative parliamentarians reflects the growing importance of the UK-India relationship and CFIndia’s commitment to building strong connections between Members of Parliament, the British Indian community and stakeholders committed to closer ties between the world's two largest democracies.

As Patron MPs, Gareth Bacon, David Reed, Sir Christopher Chope, John Lamont and Joy Morrissey will support CF India’s work in promoting greater engagement between the United Kingdom and India, championing the contribution of British Indians to British society, and advancing dialogue on trade, investment, education, innovation and cultural exchange.

The United Kingdom and India enjoy a vibrant and evolving partnership based on shared democratic values, economic cooperation and longstanding people-to-people links. With India playing an increasingly significant role on the global stage, parliamentary engagement remains vital to strengthening this relationship and unlocking new opportunities for collaboration.

The addition of five new Patron MPs further strengthens CF India’s presence in Westminster and enhances its ability to engage with policymakers, community leaders, businesses, and supporters across the country.

Conservative Friends of India warmly welcomes Gareth Bacon MP, David Reed MP, Sir Christopher Chope MP, John Lamont MP and Joy Morrissey MP and looks forward to their contribution in advancing the organisation’s mission of fostering ever-closer ties between the United Kingdom and India.
