CFIndia are delighted to be opening applications for new regional Ambassadors. After the initial success of the scheme, Co-Chairs Dr Koolesh Shah and Sir Oliver Dowden are keen to see its reach expand across the UK.
Our Ambassadors play a vital role in building relationships, expanding our membership, and amplifying the shared values that unite the UK and India. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in your local area, connect directly with senior politicians, and help shape the Conservative Party's engagement with the British Indian community across the country.
Why Become a CF India Ambassador?
As a CFIndia Ambassador, you will:
Be a local leader - representing CF India in your constituency or region and act as our main point of contact,
Shape engagement - taking the lead on organising local events, cultural celebrations, and campaign sessions that bring together community members and Conservative representatives,
Build political influence - facilitating meetings between local Indian community leaders and MPs, councillors and parliamentary candidate,
Grow the network - encouraging new members to join CF India and the Conservative Party, helping to strengthen both organisations at the grassroots level,
Develop your profile - gaining experience in political organising, community relations, and public affairs - valuable for anyone interested in public service, policy, or campaigning,
Access unique opportunities - attending exclusive CF India events with Cabinet Ministers, MPs, peers, and business leaders,
Guaranteed access to CF India events, with early access to tickets - including to our infamous Conference Reception,
Dinner with the co-chairs - team dinner with the co-chairs Sir Oliver Dowden MP and Dr Koolesh Shah to celebrate achievements for the year.
Expectations and Key Responsibilities
CFIndia Ambassadors will be expected to:
Host or co-host at least one CF India event per year (e.g. Diwali celebration, community reception, policy roundtable),
Lead a local CF India campaign day once a month in their constituency or region,
Arrange or help facilitate two meetings per year between CF India leadership and local political or community figures,
Promote CF India online by sharing updates and encouraging engagement on social media,
Recruit at least 10 new members per year to CF India (and ideally to the Conservative Party),
Submit a brief annual report outlining key activities, outcomes, and future plans.
Performance and Continuation
We want the Ambassador Programme to be inspiring, supportive, and high-impact. However, to ensure the programme remains active and effective, Ambassadors will be reviewed annually against the key performance indicators (KPIs) above.
We’ll review all Ambassadors annually to celebrate achievements, share best practice, and discuss plans for the year ahead. This will also be an opportunity for an open, two-way conversation about how the role is working - both for CF India and for the individual Ambassador.
If circumstances have changed or participation has been limited, we can together decide whether it’s in everyone’s best interests to continue or to refresh the role locally. This approach ensures the programme remains dynamic, fair and rewarding for those most actively involved, while keeping every region well represented and energised.
Ambassadors who excel will be invited to take on additional leadership opportunities within CF India’s national structure and will receive public recognition for their work.
