Thank You

As we reflect on the month of April, we want to extend a big thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers that have been involved in campaigning efforts across the country. We have seen our members spending countless hours on the doorstep in their local areas, and we are incredibly grateful for all the time and support you have dedicated to these elections.

With only a matter of days until polling day, we wish all the candidates from CFIndia the very best of luck and assure them of our support throughout this period.

This month has been a busy one, not only in campaigning, but also in events and meetings for all in our community. We look forward to sharing some of the highlights with you below, and want to take this opportunity to thank you again for your engagement with and commitment to CFIndia.

Upcoming Campaigning

As we approach the finish line, it is important that we do not lose the campaigning momentum that all our volunteers have worked so hard to build. This final week will be packed full of action days across the country, but we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight a few sessions that would benefit from some CFIndia support:

Friday 1st May at 6pm, Colman and Cowley Ward, meet on the corner of Violet Avenue and Royal Lane.

Monday 4th May at 11am, North Harrow Ward, meet on the corner of Cambridge Road and Station Road.

Thursday 7th May from 10:30am-12:30pm, North Harrow Ward. This final session will be led by our Co-Chairs Dr Koolesh Shah and Sir Oliver Dowden and we hope to see as many of our members there as possible.

Dr Koolesh Shah meets Shivani Raja MP

It was a great privilege for our Co-Chair Dr. Koolesh Shah to meet Shivani Raja MP this month at the Holiday Inn, Wigston in Ms Raja's constituency of Leicester East.

As the home of one of the country’s largest British Indian populations, Leicester remains a city of central importance to CFIndia’s work. Its vibrant community, strong entrepreneurial spirit and deep civic engagement make it a key focus for our ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the Conservative Party and British Indians across the UK.

Dr Shah and Ms Raja enjoyed a constructive and forward-looking discussion, exploring a number of exciting upcoming plans and opportunities for our members in Leicester. Their conversation reflected a shared commitment to expanding local engagement and ensuring that the voices of British Indians in Leicester continue to be represented.

We look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead, with further initiatives and events planned in the region.

Ambassador Update

We are incredibly grateful for the continuing hard work of all of our Ambassadors and it has been fantastic to see how they have been contributing to campaigning over the past few weeks.

We have also seen some great events, such as Ambassador Alex's reception with Shadow Housing Secretary Sir James Cleverly. We have been delighted to hear how much attendees enjoyed the evening and thank Alex for his organisation.

Below is just a small collection of photographs from the number of sessions coordinated and attended by our ambassadors in the run-up to the elections next week.

Public Speaking Training Session

This month also brought our very first training session. Led by our Director Resham Kotecha and Co-Chair Sir Oliver Dowden, it was an enjoyable and informative evening focused on public-speaking and confidence building. We have received lots of positive feedback from members and do hope that everybody in our community will continue to attend these sessions to develop their skills.

We have two upcoming sessions planned, the first of which will be held on 21st May. These sessions are a response to requests from our members and we do hope that they will prove useful in supporting you to hone your abilities and knowledge.

The 21st May session will be on Online Safety and free tickets are available on the below link. We are grateful to our member Sapna for sharing her expertise with us in this way and look forward to hearing from her. Just as a reminder, CFIndia will never ask for any personal details or verification codes. If you receive any calls or messages making such requests, do not respond, do not share any information and report and block the individual immediately.

We are also pleased that Shivani Raja MP has agreed to host a training session for our members. This will be on the topic of candidacy and will include Ms Raja telling the story of her journey into politics. We will share further details of this in due course.
